Nathan Kam

Nathan is the immediate past-president of the PRSA Hawaii Chapter and has been immersed in public relations for Hawaii's travel and tourism industry for more than a decade highlighted by his work on some of the state's top destination marketing campaigns. He leads a team that has brought in popular national TV shows, including Anthony Bourdain: No Reservations, TOP CHEF, and Dinner: Impossible.

A vice president at McNeil Wilson Communications - a division of Anthology Marketing Group, Hawaii's largest full-service integrated marketing company - Nathan's primary responsibility is managing the firm's PR activities for the Hawaii Visitors and Convention Bureau, the state's marketing agency for North America.

In his 11 years at McNeil Wilson, Nathan has developed a deep understanding about tourism - Hawaii's #1 industry - having also serviced the PR needs of the Kauai Visitors Bureau, Marriott Resorts Hawaii, Prince Resorts Hawaii, Wyland Waikiki, Ala Moana Hotel, and King's Village.

He is actively involved in the workings of McNeil Wilson, exploring and implementing emerging media opportunities, coordinating professional staff development and growth opportunities, overseeing the firm's internship program, and monitoring industry trends affecting Hawaii, business, marketing, communications, and tourism.

Nathan has been an active member of the Public Relations Society of America - Hawaii Chapter since 1999, most recently serving as Chapter President in 2010 and has served on its Board of Directors the past five years as membership and sponsorship chair.

He has also served as public relations chair for the Japanese Cultural Center of Hawaii's 2009 and 2010 Celebration of Leadership and Achievement Dinner, an annual event honoring Japanese American business leaders throughout the state.

Nathan is a graduate of the University of Hawaii at Manoa, earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in journalism/public relations in 1999. When he's not working (which isn't very often), he enjoys spending time with family and friends, golfing, reading, traveling, cooking, and exploring the social mediasphere.
