Prior to joining the agency, Vo worked at Hawai‘i Business through the Society of Professional Journalists (SPJ) Hawai‘i Chapter internship program, where he generated more than 30 print and online stories. He produced and edited more than 40 online stories for Media-Hi, Inc's travel and tourism website, www.aloha-hawaii.com. He also worked at PRWorks and at the University of Oregon, where he wrote and edited communications and media pieces for the university's Media Relations Department.
In 2008, Vo garnered a Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) Hawai‘i Koa Hammer Award in the Consumer Marketing category and in 2009 he earned a Koa Hammer Award in the Media Relations category. He has also contributed pro bono work to the McKinley High School Foundation and assists the Society of Professional Journalists (SPJ) Hawai‘i Chapter with its annual SPJ Awards dinner every year.
Born and raised in Honolulu, Hawai‘i, Vo graduated from McKinley High School and earned his journalism degree in news/editorial and magazine and minor in Japanese language from the University of Oregon.
Vo is currently completing his Certified Festival and Event Executive (CFEE) program, which is affiliated with the Hawai‘i Tourism Authority.
